Voltage for USA question

There is NO 110V power in North America, it is 120V

Two 120V supplies (from one transformer) to make 249V !

120V circuits are divided among the two suppies and thereby the Neutral only carries the imbalance in the 120V loads on the supplies.

It was until 1970 when it changed to 120V 60Hz It was changed to 115V around when Germany invaded Poland

of course before 1960 it was cps (Cycles per Second) The term Hertz (Hz) was created circa 1960
