Just bought an own brand malt vinegar from Sainsburys and it comes in a plastic bottle.
(Which I used to refill the previous Sainsburys own brand vinegar we bought which came in a glass bottle)
Is it just me, or does it seem a little off to have an acid - intended for human consumption - being sold in a plastic bottle like that ?
Or is my time in the home distilling fraternity - where storing alcohol in plastic is *seriously* frowned upon affecting my judgement ?
The underlying "logic" is that we have no idea what prolonged exposure to products stored in plastic might do to humans. Whereas we have millennia of experience of using glass/glazed pottery for storage.
