Vastly off topic - Buyometric on Facebook

I keep getting Buyometric.co.uk posts on Facebook. So does my Lady Wife. So far I haven't been able to work out if I have subscribed to this, or if someone else has.

Either way, how do I stop it?

Cheers

Try this. Go to your timeline and look at the header that has stuff about you. You may need to scroll the bar sideways to get to the section labelled "Likes". Open that page and see if you've ever "liked" a page of theirs in he past.

I go really pissed off by Amazon using my name to advertise themselves. Turned out I must have clicked a "like" button that I had long forgotten about.

If you name isn't attached to the ads, it's probably targeted advertising and probably f*ck all you can do about it. It's just Facebook desperately trying to generate a revenue stream.

Ahhh...thanks. Went back down my Timeline and found that I'd liked Buyometric last December. Used the menus to unlike them and not show them on my timeling. Looks much better now :-)

Oh I see. I never like anything, mainly for two reasons. Firstly, I do not have an active Farceburke account, and secondly, when web sites will learn to put their like buttons after the item you are supposed to like in the logical reading order of the page, then I might be more charitable, until then, they can piss off, as can all the other voting widgets placed on sites by people wanting to make a fast buck.
