Loyal readers will remember my problems a couple of months ago with my Vaillant Ecotec Plus boiler. It was failing to ignite in the mornings and displaying an s.075 fault. The manual suggested checking various things, and some people on here, particularly John and Tim, suggested some possibilities. I thought people might be interested in the sequel.
I tried various things, but without lasting success. Gradually it grew worse until by early March it was happening every morning, and eventually cutting out during the day itself. I rang our regular service engineer and asked for advice. He was unequivocal: S.75 meant the water pressure sensor had failed, and I should get Vaillant to come and fix it under guarantee.
We duly called Vaillant and a guy came the same day (16th March 2023) and replaced the part without any quibbles. It is, he said, a common and well known fault. Moreover it meant the pressure reading given by the display was unreliable; in fact the water pressure was very low while the display said 3 bar.
I don't know if Vaillant's remarkably rapid response was normal or just a fluke, but it certainly was impressive. Full marks.
