Unsolicited (SPAM) emails from - www.heatandplumb.com - :-(

This is very much *not* an advert nor a recommendation....

Recently I've been receiving unsolicited spam emails to various addresses here from

a company apparently run by Austin Salton of Fair Winds, St Breoc, Wadebridge, Cornwall, PL27 7HS.

Since they're clearly a UK Co. I politely contacted them and asked them to desist but the emails continue to arrive.

So, this is a public service announcement - don't spend money with spammers.

I've had the same spam - yesterday... They have an 'unsubscribe' button on the html mail the sent me - clicked it, don't know if it'll make any difference...

So they're harvesting emails from UK-diy, d'you think ??

The good news is that the people at the following email addresses

snipped-for-privacy@heatandplumb.com snipped-for-privacy@heatandplumb.com snipped-for-privacy@heatandplumb.com snipped-for-privacy@heatandplumb.com

are all dying to hear from UK-diy-ers - so maybe they can start getting some spam of their own back

I've received one so far - to an address I don't believe I've ever used on this newsgroup!

Mine was caught in my spamtrap.

I'm hesitating telling K9 that they're spam as that would increase the likelihood of him catching wanted plumbing-related emails.

I've now reported them via SpamCop to BTConnect, 1and1 hosting et al.

I considered telephoning Mr. Salton at home at 3am to discuss his activities (insomnia has its uses) but decided against it.

Oh I didn't tell anyone about it, all unrecognised mails are trapped. Yours would be - until I said you were acceptable :-)

Don't hold your breath.

Although I had a spammer fined GBP1000 by Ofcom because a premium rate 'phone line was involved, so something does happen, occasionally.

No problem, any time.

I wish you good luck.

I have been trying to contact him (and his "support" staff) for weeks to find out why a refund, for goods NOT DELIVERED in mid-November, remains unpaid.

In view of my experience with this mob I would suggest that ANY other supplier would be preferable.

website, I have emailed the company and advised them to desist, and that any future spam from them will be reported to the Information Commissioner. Perhaps if the ICO gets enough complaints ....

Perhaps we should send them all large files such as 5Mb mp3s and clog them up.

Terrible idea - I really couldn't condone it

Alternatively - if each of us sent them a nice big graphic file - something uncompressed like a bmp - that had some text saying 'please don't spam addresses that you find in uk-diy' then that might make our feelings clear....

Any graphics wizards out there ?
