I came across this page while looking for something else. It might be a useful reference.
It seems to have a fairly comprehensive summary of metric, UK, and US thread sizes, including diameter, pitch, and tap drill size.

I've actually bought stuff from them. Stuff I had difficulty finding elsewhere (at least in reasonable quantities without min order charge or silly carriage).
