Hi All,
Some years ago we had some Drsytek RT212 Rad valves fitted. one of them now appears to be leaking (clear liquid) through the valve head….
This began last week after we had been without heating oil for a week to ten days (electronic IOT Oil gauge has been ordered as we are sick of the manual ones getting stuck and lying).
Anyway, back to valves.
I don’t know if the system having been so cold (though not frozen I think) for a number of days has caused the issue.
The valve which is leaking is mounted upside down (so I suppose its head is actually a tail). Is this an approved / recommended way to install them?
Also, the head is barely hand tight and doesn’t have any PTFE tape or anything else to seal the threads should it have something / be tighter?
Any other thoughts / suggestions as to what is going on?
It is a pressurised sealed system, so perhaps that is why the liquid is clear rather than the black we previously hot when the system was drained (when it wasn’t a sealed system).
