At which airport or airfield located in the extensive urban heat island of London and the South East will the record be broken?
With the relentless rise in global temperatures due to CO2 emissions, why wasn’t this record broken decades ago? </sarcasm>
On a diy note, what passive measures do people do to keep their houses cool?
Our house faces E/W, so gets the morning sun from dawn to mid-day. From the S we are in the shadow of the house next door. The afternoon sun impacts the rear of the property, but having a ridge-line about 50m away that has tall trees, the sun effectively sets about 16:30.
We open all the windows and internal doors as well as the patio door, to move air through the house. It seems to work reasonably well.
What do others do in these circumstances?
