I've got a dripping tap, and I've taken it apart to see if I can stop it.
The spindle appears to have a very thin washer fastened onto the end of it (glued ?), is it likely to be replaceable ?
TIA

Assuming its a worn rubber washer, yes, easily. It should peel off round the edges. Tap washers come in 2 sizes, bath and basin.

At least two. One of our bath taps is almost unusable because I can't find suitable washers. I've bodged it with two ordinary bath tap washers but it has a tendency to mangle them if you turn that tap off too hard. Or at all.
The washer is a push fit. The sides of the new washer are chamfered, it needs to go on to the spindle a certain way which I always got wrong. Help me OB1 Adam!
Probably will turn out to be thicker once you pry it out of its seat...

A lot of modernish taps use 3/8" washers instead of 1/2". They tend to be used where the washer fits inside a rim.
