I’ve had 2 unsuccessful attempts at installing a sun shade between the house and a gazebo.
The difficulty arises because although I can easily achieve sufficient tension in the fabric I don’t have enough height difference between the 4 attachment points and so rainfall pools in it rather than runoff.
My second attempt was a shade with a central perforation. But that still accumulated water too.
So research suggests that solar mesh shade might do the trick eg it’s an open mesh weave that will allow rainfall to pass through but still reduces the amount of sunlight.
The shade is 4 x 3 metres. The long side spans a gap of 5 metres.
My question is that I’m assuming I definitely won’t be able to tension a mesh the same way as a shade, and so I’ll need to add some intermediate cable supports to span the gap and stop the mesh sagging.
Has anyone installed solar mesh?
