Regular Gorilla glue (other brands are available) would be worth a try.

Low expanding foam . . . ?
Fascinating, thank you. I've d/l'd it for a proper read later but in the meantime I've picked up some useful insights - though a lot of it, as you said, is somewhat OTT for my situation
