Indeed, at least 24kW, like the smallest (within reason) sized combis.

Personally, I'd go for the loft. Well, I did go for the loft, but I didn't go combi, I added a heat bank. It takes some loft space up, but we have frequent baths and it is still mains pressure, so no problem if we decide on an en-suite for the loft conversion.

Thought you were agin speed?
If its too high then open a radiator valve to let some water out for a sec - the normal pressure in the system is about 1 to 1.5 bar. I was advised to not let it drop under
1 bar when I had my mums system installed.Kev
Yup, the amount of space it frees up is great. My mum used to have Gas Central Heating and the unit was in the kitchen. We got this ripped out at the conversion and it made a huge difference to the size of the kitchen. I would, however, strongly recommend a breakdown insurance on the boiler. I think it cost me £72 /yr and it broke down 3 times int he first year but the insurance well and truly covered the parts/labour. Still worth it I think

Tends to support my original contention that one of the downsides of combis is unreliability !

...except for the water flow...
