Soil pipe breather

Hi all,

I am putting an en-suite into a dormer extension, I have to put in a new soil pipe for the WC and also the grey waste. There is an existing soil pipe on the other side of the building that connects to the same SVP as the new pipe will go to that already has a breather pipe.

Does the new pipe have to have a breather extension above the dormer roof? If so, what are the regs re how high it must be?

TIA

Richard

In the above circumstances you can fit a Durgo valve (air-admittance valve) instead of a vent pipe through the roof - see the thread I started earlier this week, and/or search the uk.d-i-y archives, for more info on this.
