Soft or White

Hi all. Been looking at trav perks site and they have timber described as softwood and whitewood. Which would be more suitable for stair treads?

MDF. Its made for it. No More Creaks if you glue and screw it hard.

If you want natural wood edges, use a hardwood like oak.
