I have a flat with h/w cyl & plastic water tanks sited immediately abov

cyl. in the airing c/board. Old Apollo/Thorn wall mounted boiler. recently renewed my c/h pump & had a power flush done. New corrosio inhib. was added. This was done mid-May this year. I have just bee investigating the water tanks and discovered one ( I presume the c/ one) had a thick sludge/slime floating on top.It is the consistency o thick yoghourt & has a puce / pale purple colour. I removed most of i & put it in a jam jar. Was I correct in removing it? Thank you
