I cannot see anything in the wiki so maybe someone can tell me what I need to make a new connection from a 40mm plastic sink waste into what gully trap and thence discharging into an existing foul water inspection chamber?
Also is the work building regs notifiable

Not if you do it properly.
Just core drill into the inspection chamber so that the hole is above 'high tide mark' and seal with silicon. Make sure you have a downfall, but not too steep all the way.
The trap under the sink will provide the necessary smell trap.
if it's Victorian, nothing. Just end the pipe above the grille.
Sounds too easy, I was assuming there would need to be a separate gully trap outside before the connection to the inspection chamber.
