I was reading a 'diy problem page' a while ago which described the appearance of matt or shiny patches on an emulsioned wall. I didn't have the problem at the time (!) so I didn't bookmark the answer! Now I* have the problem, and need the answer!
I have a wall with a matt finish emulsion (sort of bland magnolia) which has a couple of large 'more matt' patches. I know I 'touched up' these patches, but I don't remember if it was a brush or a roller - and what pile length (the whole wall had been rollered, and this is what has made the difference.
The answer I saw explained how brushes vs.rollers vs. different pile length rollers affected the mattness of the finish .... I want the 'more matt' finish which is quite noticeable (in contrast at least) under artificial lighting.
Can anyone clear up which painting method is likely to give the 'mattest' finish?
Thansk!
