Shallow Shower Trays

Am I alone in thinking these things are a PITA? I've just installed one that must be no more than about 35mm deep at the deep end. If anything gets blocked down the waste there's precious little redundancy there before the damn thing overflows - quite apart from this kind of design's other shortcomings wrt to increased splashing, seal penetration and limitations on situ.

Yes. At least so far as I am concerned.

My mother has a shallow one; she has severe arthritis in her knees and would have difficulty lifting her legs up over the sill of a deep one. She has no problems with it. As a result of her experience, we had one put in a few years ago. Granted, the cover on the outlet needs to have hair etc. removed from it after every shower that you wash your hair, but you very quickly get into the habit of doing that, and again, no problems with it. I would be happy to have a shallow one again.
