What sort of not working? Quite often it's the filter on the brine intake, it does the normal cycle, but you run out of soft water.
beware if u have children not to use it for drinking water or for food!
we had a water softener and were advised not to use it by the doctor. he'd seen quite a few incidents of kidney problems in children from homes with water softeners. he suggested that salt in the water was the cause.
whether all machines do this or wether the machines were faulty/wrongly adjusted i dont know.
make sure you have a tap installed for none softened water!
shocker
