Sand & Cement

Hi Could anyone please tell me if S&C will adhere to that Marley bitumen adhesive?

Taken up old Marley tiles and want to level out a couple of bad dips in the concrete floor.

Many thanks. Martin

Use a proprietary self-levelling screed, and you won't have any problems. Use sand and cement and you are guaranteed to have problems - unless it is a very thick overall screed.

pretty much nothing sticks to bitumen, except more bitumen. The way to get something to stick is to blind it, ie wave a torch at it till it melts, and add sand. Some of the sane particle remains exposed, and things can stick to that.

Thanks for the replies.

Bruce whats the difference with using SLS as opposed to S&C?

Sand and cement will crack for sure. The admixtures in SLS make that far less likely.
