The caveman who invented the wheel has a lot to answer for as well.

Einsteins role was a minor one, suggesting in a letter to a US president that a program be started to counter the possibility that Germany would develop a nuclear weapon during WWII.

[1] Later than cavemen, me thinks. the Eygptians when they built the pyramids used logs as rollers they hadn't yet thought of wheels and axles. Egyptians about 7,000 years ago cavemen about 50,000 years ago, of course this is speculation I am old(well not that old 'only' 58) but not thousands of years old.

When you consider that the German nuclear weapons program began in April '39, its seems like that letter may have just saved the world as we know it!

Apart from heat energy in the IR end of the spectrum, the only type of radiated heat that could affect that guage is direct sunlight, or a hot incandescant bulb.
The original thread (which people have typically forgotten about) is about coax close-to or touching central heating pipes inside a void. QED, the only heat transfer that is relevant is conducted heat, and that won't harm coax at all, unless that central heating pipe is carrying super-heated steam, which it won't be.
And gave all the worlds Dyno's a really bad hair day :-)
However that was 'only' 65 million years ago. Much earlier was the 'great extinction event' that eradicated 90+% of everything alive.
But they had worked out the way to deliver one (V2) - possibly.
Should we blame Tim Berners-Lee for the rash of online banking and other forms of fraud ?.
