I'd rather have any other brand. Here is a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall for a Makita orbital sander:

the sanders were not all recalled in New Zealand. Later that year, a Makita orbital sander that a guy was using fell apart and blinded him in one eye. Makita NZ initially offered no compensation. The piece that hit him would probably have shattered most eye goggles.
