Removal of sockets (on a ring final cct)

Need to remove some double sockets in a kitchen due to rearrangement of where appliances are - some have to go.



So looking for a neat solution that I can terminate (to keep ring continuity) within the existing back box (dry wall boxes) Wiil be classed as inaccessible, will then make the drywall hole good.(will be behind new glass decor panels) Thinking off something like:

Or possibly I thought of WAGO connectors There is a box ...

Can that take 3 separate WAGO connectors ?....

Or please suggest if a simpler way.


If the existing cable run is from from socketA, to socketB, to socketC, to socketD and you remove e.g. sockets B and C, will the remaining cables from A to D still be within allowed zones?

One issue with Wago connectors and boxes is if you are using them in inaccessable situations you are limited to a maximum current of 20A which means you cannot use them to complete a ring main fused at 32A using 2.5mm2 T&E. If however the boxes are accessible then you can go up to their rated value of 32A, that's according to the info leaflet provided unless someone knows different?

I am surprised at you. At the very least it should be a ratchet crimper. Although I would probably go with Wago.

Crimp or solder + heatshrink them and forget.

Alternatively, if this is not an outside wall, could the socket be repositioned on the other side of the wall and used for another purpose ?.

An exception to this is the 773-173 push wire connector which, when used within inaccessible locations, is rated to carry 32A (41A elsewhere).

Why is crimping better than using a terminal block? Even if the terminal block is 30 amps, by placing the bare cables in direct contact would this not increase capacity?
