I would have thought the days of CFLs were numbered now that cheap LEDs are starting to appear anyway.
Ornate? I seem to recall some of the first ones of these were bloomin heavy as well as they did not have electronic ballasts, just a huge lump of iron ie a choke. I had a bayonet holder give way under the strain once, and it could have knocked somebody out had they been standing underneath. Brian
