Re: Further interesting Dixons versus the DVD stories.

Whatever happened to "buyer beware"??

You bought something from a cowboy firm. You have little idea of your legal rights. You got ripped off. It's disappointing for you, but why the f*ck do I want to hear about your petty little squabbles with Dixon's?

Still, hopefully you'll have got some useful experience for next time, eh?

They can only charge the maximum permitted under the DPA which is £10.

It will probably cost Dixons about £200 to send the tape to a processor to have everyone else blurred out.

"The Natural Philosopher" | (trading standards') is recorded delivery complaint to the | managing director, or one of the directors, and/or a small | claims court action,

The next time you go in, take some blank small claims court forms with you, lean on the counter and start filling them in :-)

I wasn't aware that Usenet was required reading like books for a university course might be; let alone that it was madatory to reply.

If you didn't like the post, you could easily have skipped it and not replied. Given that you did reply, why are you complaining?

Not based on anything that you have posted.......

That's a nice strategy. Wipe out their profit margin *and* revenue on the sale.

Brilliant Owain.

Ask the manager and the assistant for their names to add to the paperwork to along with the name of the managing director.

It would probably be important to tell them what the forms are, because being bad salespeople, they will not be able to read upside down, if at all.

You need one of these...

...if they make them small enough

(probably not safe for work or children.)

Does yours work?

Remember not to take your photos to Boots won't you. This kind of stuff may be illegal, but as a minimum, the assistants would have a good laugh at your expense.....

How could it possibly be illegal?
