PVA will do it. First prime plasterboard with 2/3 coats PVA diluted
50-50. If you want to be doubly sure, few dabs of hard as nails along battern, PVA inbetween. btw, don't pay silly prices for hard as nails, if you have one, try 'pound shop' .(exterior grade is best if they have it).
