That you and others did not get the Brexit you wanted is more your fault for not getting the right politicians in place and like the annoying supermarket Christmas Ads getting a creature in to front the campaign,namely Boris Johnson to appeal to the masses and get them onside, he not being a shy chap grabbed the opportunity with relish to promote his own career path and place in history . The leave vote would never have got over the line without the sofa surfing TV watchers having someone they could recognise telling them which way to go and because they thought he was a nice bloke hosting “ I’ve got News for You “ and pulling acrobatic stunts took the guide from him rather than explore the issues closely.

So the EU stitched you up, and who can blame them. Its you leavers who are the fools for not getting the best deal by losing not the EU by winning. Your hopes now lie with Farage but by the time Reform gets in if they do that will be a couple more years, and that supposes they have the skill set to actually govern well enough to muddle through while their people get experienced enough to be viable for a second term. That’s the one of Labours problems at the moment ,they were out of power for so long they have few people who know how to govern and keep messing up . So we might see a Brexit of the kind that the Leave means Leave movement arrive around 20 years after the referendum , most of its proponents will be dead or gaga. A fair number of them have gone already , what ever happened to that twerp Harry who claimed the HS2 rail line was being built so German Troops could invade quickly via the channel tunnel.

At the time of the Brexit vote I was aghast. The direction of travel was clear but I expected to lose that vote. And have to wait another 15 years.

In the end winning it made very little difference due to the traitorous nature of the establishment politicians, except that it clearly outlined the duplicity of both Tory and Labour, and left room for future evolution away from the EUs monstrous idiocy.

It took quite a while to run the economy down from the heights of Thatcher. So Blair lasted until it got s*it and then made Brown take the blame. But this time It was s*it from the get go. Cameron etc had no clue.

If Thatcher was so brilliant, why did the Tories get outsed a mere 7 years after ?

The boost to the coffers from "Selling off the family silver" ran out, and people realised that the privatised services were not entirely the sunlit uplands they were promised[1].

To be clear, those privatised service did indeed seem more responsive to the customer at first.

These days many people have forgotten how bad most of the nationalised and monopoly industries were. Most if not all of them suffered from decades of under investment and customer service was almost like they were doing you a favour providing the service you had already paid for.

I'm not saying under privatisation and/or deregulation things are perfect but in general I think that many services are better now than they would have been under the old regimes, with the old mind set with regards customer service.

With regards some of the bad practices from the privatised industries how much blame equally can be attributed to Government appointed regulatory bodies, Ofwat, Ofgem etc?

False. What tipped the balance was those who wanted fewer *white* European faces in the shires, and not being asked if they wanted to log into their GP surgery in English or Polish.

Ironically, some of the accommodation those migrant workers used to live in, is now occupied by black faces who have arrived from outside the EU.

Because racism is inherently dim, then trying to act in it's pursuit will axiomatically lead to outcomes it's adherents could never have anticipated. No matter how you define the boundaries that underpin the stratiography of the UK, it never ends well for those at the lower end to scrabble amongst themselves. It does however almost always help those above it. That is until you have a heads on spikes moment. Just ask the French.
