Rainwater diverter for 55mm (2 in) downpipe

Sep 10, 2007 2 Replies

I've been trying to fit a rainwater butt to my shed, but the downpipe is only 55mm in diameter. Standard diverters only seem to fit 63mm pipes and up - can anyone recommend a diverter for a smaller pipe?

Thanks,

Nik

Take a length of 63mm downpipe and replace the piece on the shed.

Run the pipe into the butt, and then have it overflow onto the original soakaway (or whereever it goes). This is better because if you don't use the water for some time, the water in the butt is being changed slowly and the surface skimmed off, rather than just sitting there.
