Quick question re wiring

Hope this is not too dumb a question!

Can I wire a 13a socket to a fused plug as opposed to wiring it into the mains?

Many thanks

Sure. Make sure you provide a cordgrip on it though

You could call it an 'extension lead'. :-)

Not at all. The only dumb one is the one you don't ask!

Basically its an extension lead.... You should use flex rather than flat T&E cable.

And ensure that the flex is restrained properly, so it cannot be pulled out of the socket in normal use.
