PVA goes cloudy with moisture and tends to yellow a little in sun.
I would not want to use it outside at all.
Translucent casting resins can be poured into moulds an polished - far better I would have thought.

My wife made some fake stained glass windows with some stuff called Gallery Glass. Although the manufacturer doesn't say so, it seems to be tinted PVA (also used as wood glue, Bondcrete, decoupage paste et cetera). Now I would like to protect the windows by putting some sheets of perspex over them. It would not be totally covered, as I don't want condensation forming. I wonder about any greenhouse effect, as the darker painted areas get hot in the sun, and would be even hotter if I slap a sheet of perspex over it. Will PVA break down if it is too hot?
pva is sometimes used as hot melt glue. I've no idea at what temp it softens.
