PVA and MDF

Hi all. Will a 3:1 PVA solution be a successful priming coat for MDF?

I've just done exactly this - 3:1 (so it looks like milk). One application dries in about 20 mins (outside today). I applied three 2:1 watererd down coats of dulux Diamond matt (thoroughly recommended). Sanded between coats and it's super-smooth. The PVA must have worked because the paint stayed on despite me loosing my temper a few times when mounting the MDF.

Take care when applying the first coat of paint - the PVA will dissolve into it slightly - so you need to paint quickly - and don't go over what you've applied. I waited 1 hour between coats.
