Powerwasher advice please

Apr 29, 2005 3 Replies

Hi,

I am thinking of buying a powerwasher and am seeking some advice on which reliable make and model to buy, what I can expect to pay and where should I purchase one from?

I generally want one to do things like cleaning my rear yard and also to remove some nasty green algae that has run down one wall from my bathroom overflow pipe. I have seen some for sale on QVC and they look like miracle products with lots of utilities bundled - anyone know if these are any good or not? I like the look of the smaller 'roundish' ones that look easy to carry - a bit like a cylinder Dyson - but are they any good? Do they have enough power?

Do any come with an ability to add chemicals/soap or is the power usually enough? One last point, how do they fit to taps - do they come with universal tap fittings?

Thanks for any info,

J.

Thanks Dave - very useful info.

I've got a £40 cheapy from B&Q and am surprisingly happy with it. Sorted out my patio etc really well (although you can lose half the pointing if not careful) For my purposes ie infrequent I can't see much point in spending £100s for a brand name washer Mine uses standard hose pipe connectors up to the machine itself
