I have a Potterton Profile 50e that won't start. I suppect the blowe

fan as it is just buzzing. Does this fan have a capacitor on the PC that may be the problem? If it does, does anyone know if it can b tested/replaced

Thanks, jo

I'm 99% certain that the fan motor is a shaded pole induction motor (the sort that used to power vinyl disc turntables and washing machine pumps). The usual problem is either the coil goes open circuit or the bearings seize. Since it make a noise it may be the latter.

also. I also put an independant 240v supply to it and it just buzzes. Strange. Thanks, jo
