The same way as they would if it were an English electrician or a Scott. You either know enough to be able to tell or you rely on the certificate they give you.

Well, I got a guy to fit a woodburner for us. He's known locally - his business was partly built up from his fathers chimney sweep company.
And he's F***ed of abroad leaving it unsafe to use because he didn't follow the regs.
And HETAS don't want to know.
