I am looking for plywood around 10mm thick. Very strong, and with lots of thin plies, rather than the usual stuff that has only a couple of plies each way. Any idea where to get this.
It's to make a boomerang, btw. So, just a small sheet will do fine.
Marine ply is usually higher spec - or look at model makers.

You'd generally look for a high quality one which might be called birch, etc. Got some 10mm here which I use for speaker cabinets. That is 10 ply.
You might find a decent selection of offcuts on Ebay at a not bad price.
You need baltic birch. plies are around 1mm thick comes in nominal 6,9,12,15,18 etc thickness but not everywhere with have all thicknesses in stock.
Thanks all. Now I know what to look for. Last time I did this, I got an offcut from somewhere, but the number of places with offcut bins is reducing.
It never occurred to me to look on ebay for bits of wood. But, why not?
laminate your own from e.g. thin sheets of mahogany and bass..get that from SLEC.co.uk
Makes very pretty propellors and so on.

I've just bought some ally kickplates for the bottom of a door from Ebay. About half the B&Q price with free postage. 48 hour delivery too.
Unless you have a specialist woodwork shop nearby, you're more likely to get offcuts of what you want on Ebay than anywhere else.
Shirley using bass would make better fins not props.
Marine ply just means it has been made with marine rated glue .......... Birch ply usually has more 'plys' than standard ply.
