plugging holes after injecting Dryzone damp course

Just wondered if there are any temparary plugs I can get to seal-off the holes after injecting dryzone into brickwork?

I thought to leave it for a few months to see how the damp situation hopefully improves, then have the brickwork repointed.

At the moment I've just drilled a test hole and use silicone to seal the hole (easily pulled out later). In fact I though how about mixing some cement dust with the silicone (for colouring) and just use that? I must to BnQ to see if they have coloured silicone for this already, perhaps, maybe :-)

Advice appreciated.

They're normally filled with mortar (well, not filled, but the surface closed off). You could always drill them out again if necessary. Make the mortar mix weaker than the brickwork. Mortar dyes are available, but not in enough colours to make a perfect match. I have seen the original brick dust saved and used to finish off (in this case, when moving a gas boiler and blocking off the old flue on a neighbours house - you can't see where it was at all).

Dryzone goes into the mortar bed, not the brick, so just use mortar, but leave it for a few weeks after treatment before pointing.
