In discussion about carpet cleaning at lunchtime, one member of the group mentioned that he had been given a gallon of pale blue carpet and I think he said, upholstery shampoo. Any idea what it could be?

Its pale blue because it has pale blue dye in it :-)
'Shampoo' is a much misused term. If its a high foam shampoo its one thing, if its an extraction 'shampoo' its another.
Any brand name or directions on the can?
