anthropogenic=causedBY human beings. anthropomorphic = made to, or viewed as, looking like a human being.

I.e. designing a car front to look like a human face.

fairy dust, porcine aviation, pie in the sky, and bullshit.

See, that's the result of all those years spent with ciggies and GURLS behind the bike sheds.

Producing all the spare power just when its not needed, and none at all when it is...

Producing power for commerce and industry through the day.

Tidal, geothermal and gas.

And what if it is? There is no going back.

As the lemming said, looking over the cliff.

Smarter lemmings who did go back, are alive today.

The answer is to accept that change is going to happen and spend money on preparing for the consequences, not pissing it into the wind (or the sun) in the desperate hope that that might do something to stop it, despite no evidence that it will.

And overwhelming evidence that it won't.

That's what I said - just when its not needed - Base load generation covers that just fine - its the cold dark early evenings where we hit peak demand.

Well you ARE pretty dim. Here is a graph of daily load

It corresponds almost exactly to PV panels output.

You think the peak load depends comlpetely on people switching their TVon to watch coronation street? You're listening too much to TurNiP's drivel.

We know what he means, don't take the piss.

And you are one that wants to carry right on?

There is every reason to belive in man-made global climate change. It's neccessary to prepare AND prevent as far as possible.

Please point to any rigorous scientific study that conclusively demonstrates that human activity makes any significant contribution to climate change. You might like to send it to the IPCC as well, because they can't come up with one.

There is not enough money for both. We know that what we do to prepare for change will be effective. As we don't know the causes of climate change, we cannot know that anything we do to try to prevent it will have any effect at all.

Colin Bignell

Not exactly a winters evening is it dopey...

Harry you really need to stop posting links like that as I get a stiffy at the thought of all that oil that being used to power civilisation rather than us reverting to living in caves

Well given that nothing we can do will prevent climate change what do you propose?
