Painting panel moulded doors?

Can these be painted like any other kind of wooden door?

I'm wondering if it's worth it, given a new one can be bought for £15 or so.

Er... yes, why ever not?

Are you talking about the hollow MDF type, that are white when supplied? They are provided pre-primed, that's all: you still have to paint them with undercoat and top coat just like any other door or painting job.

No, I just wondered. Someone "in the trade" said you weren't supposed to paint them.

Can't you just leave them pre-primed if that's the colour you want? LOL

Better still by the pre-painted ones for £5 more. Look fine with just one top coat. Lots less work and probably similar price once you've costed the paint for the primed-only version. Be aware that these doors act only as a visual barrier and are too naff to provide sound block.

Not much good for people who fart in bathrooms, then?

Yes.

Depends if you like matt white primer that takes finger marks really wel= l rather than a proper topcoat that you can wipe clean.
