painting a plywood trailer - what is best?

I am reboarding a trailer with plywood. it is the outdoor type ply (is it called WBB - i cant remember!).

What is the best thing to paint it with? would varnish protect it better or should i just use some of the wood preservative stuff like you paint on the fence?

Fence treatments are made for rough surfaces like sawn timber. Try a woodstain/treatment like this

the sort of thing used on exterior doors.

Easier to get a good finish than with varnish & it doesn't peel or crack.

The very best solution is to hit a marine chandlers and get whatever they recommend for ply.

Used to be two pack paints - epoxy? anyway these go on like treacle and set to a rock hard impervious finish, which can be polished wonderfully.

All the varnishes are, is a non pigmented version of the same thing.

Fence/shed preservative would be cheaper and quicker, and OK if you don't mind your trailer looking like a shed on wheels. You will get a better finish using an exterior varnish/wood stain.
