I saw a programme on TV once about this subject .... there's two doors, one in use; t'other as spare/refurbish .... Just in case somebody despoils it. the doors are AIUI, metal and armoured.
a) it's the method for justifying to the Revenue their claims for outdoor clothing allowance b0 they just might get the photograph of the Minister for Transport, Environment and the Regions- > Minister for the Regions -> Minister for nowt -> leaving for good.
A better question might be why do journo's sign off with ; 'Fred Bloggs ... Westminster!' ... when anybody with the slightest idea of geography knows the south of the river ain't _Westminster_ but _Lambeth_! Cries from the gallery of 'They'll never notice!"
