OTish - lost iPad default wallpaper

My iPad is earlier so I don’t know which wallpaper is standard for yours.

However, if you have deleted it, you may find it ( or something you like) here:

That means the device lacks discover-ability, for that many people to be baffled by the device.

"Settings/Wallpapers & Brightness/Choose Wallpaper/Stills

Select the same image you see for Stills. It is the 1st still image."

The device might have two partitions.

system on Disk0s1, data on Disk0s2 # not that this helps, security on each is different

but if the device isn't really reliably navigable, who cares. Typically computing devices copy their background image, so that it can be painted on the screen each and every time, with no dependency on the source image still existing.

Maybe /private has sustained more damage, than just a missing wallpaper file.

After a lot of slipping settings, I think we're half way there. Putting inverse settings "on" restored some usabiilty (I had no idea they were on). And (re)enabling "light mode" also inched us closer.

Has she maybe updated the operating system. I did notice that Apple has forced different sounds onto the phone, so maybe they are doing a new range of wallpapers on the I-pad as well. Brian

Thanks for that, but I don't think so.

Despite being told - to the point of friction - that she doesn't "just stab" a buttons and sliders when things go wrong - I've seen it happen.

Currently we are almost back to normality. I had to go through every setting in display, accessibility and wallpaper and the sticking point now is the wallpaper doesn't match the lock screen. Which it ****ing well used to Friday. The problem with Googling is I have 1,000s of answers telling me how to set up "MacOS". Which is pointedly *not* what I was asking.

Anyway since it's now usable again. I'm going to leave it there. Next time we go to town we'll pester the genius bar.
