Is that the engine of which Jaguar said the only Ford part was the drain plug?

Steve Firth gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying:

The rest being Peugeot...?

Dunno. That's pretty tenuous, though.

Indeed - it's unwise to condemn an entire make on the basis of experience with just one model variant. Few makers don't have a lemon somewhere in their past.

My disco is 200 miles away from it's 100K, and it's running 100%.

It never has short journeys, my commute is 40 miles each way mostly on clear dual carriageway with 20 mins of twistys thrown in for good measure.

Of course, it did have the standard EGR valve failure at 50k, so I'm expecting it again...

Many years ago, I had a Rover Metro. Delay while the laughter dies down. It had 128,000 miles on the clock before an incompetent woman driver decided to ignore the give way line on a mini roundabout.

Before this, I had hopes of getting it into the record books as the highest mileage car in it's class. Allass she hit the front wheel and destroyed the steering rack and it was that that scrapped it off.
