We are trying to sell a building that was originally built as a prefab by t he council in the war years. Since then it has been 'converted' to hae nor mal bricks etc on the outside, so AFAIK is as good as any other building.
However, the buyer's lenders are refusing the mortgage because they want a PRC certificate. The conversion work was done by the council donkeys years ago and we don't have a certificate. The council themselves say they have no record of the property or ever doing any work (makes you wonder if they ever had a record of actually building it!)
Does anyone know where to start with this kind of thing? Sorry it's a bit off-topic, but I know there is some great experience and wisdom in this gro up. Thanks.
