yes, she stole a mouse trap from someone's house with a dead mouse in it and brought the whole thing it back home through the cat flap.....

It is what animal behaviourists claim, particularly if the prey is still alive. It will usually be a female cat that presents prey and it is thought to be linked to the training of kittens.

Not for me it isn't.
A couple of times, until she sussed it, my old springer spaniel used to escape to a neighbours front drive when the wife returned from food shopping. She would empty the boot on to her driver way, then start taking the bags in. While she was off in the house he would raid her shopping. We never saw what he go, but she reckoned a fair few steaks and roasting joints went missing. All she saw was our friendly dog!!!

Yes, I inherited her, apparently she was fluffy as a kitten and I didn't want to change her name at the age of 4 when I got her. I do call her fluff, she responds to fluffy especaily when there's food about.
OT of OT: Cats are becoming a serious problem in NZ. The main issue is that the feral population is growing rapidly, at the expense of many native species, especially birds. Landowners who are trying to restore bird life on their land tend to kill cats on sight, if possible. But cats are very good at keeping out of sight. Of all the introduced predators, cats are the biggest threat.
