Estate agent Roy Hobbs said: "Like most people I am not interesting in learning, but I do want to feel good about myself.

A maths-free world would be a happier place. No-one would have to feel bad about not being able to do it, and no one would get bullied for being good at it."

You know, that ought to be really funny. I am not laughing tho.

especially amongst adults, it seems to be a badge of honour.

Then there are people like Paxman who think it's shameful not to know every line of Shakespeare but nerdy to know anything technical.

That's nothing new, though.

A relative of mine is a plasterer - and a bloody good one, but he is so disorganised & unreliable he is always short of work.

I used to list him on my website, but had to remove him because he kept letting people down.

One time he was moaning about having no work, I asked him for a few business cards for me to hand out. He didn't have any. I got him some free one from Vistaprint & a week later he decided to buy a new phone with a different number, so they became useless.

I've given up on him now. If I could plaster as well as he can I'd be earning a fortune.

On my occasional visits to the quiz show that he hosts I've been waiting for a cheeky response of, "it's easy for you, you've got the answers on the card" to his disdainful comments but have yet to be entertained.
