OT: EV Insurance Rates Soar!

There *is* no alternative to lithium. It is quite simply the element that provides the best energy density in a chemical battery.

kg for kg, plutonium in a reactor is 80 million times better.

What we need is portable microreactors

But one of the articles I read (sorry didn't note which one) said EV insurance was up about 70% and normal car insurance about 30%.

That's the right area - my Leaf went up 67%.

And how many of the illegals then go on to emigrate.

Either way the numbers of illegals is a small minority of legal immigration 76,000 in 1,200,000.

You mean 76k in 606k. Stop trying to mislead people.

You're the one who is misleading everyone. There is 600k net migration. That is a whole number that include UK indigenous people as well as illegals, as well as legals.

Please stop lying and saying legal immigration is 600k per year. It isn't. It is 1200k. Therefore it is 76k in 1200k.

If you are trying to say 50% of legals go onto emigrate, that same proportion can be reasonably applied to illegals, so 36k net immigration in 600k net immigration.

Either way, immigration is 1200k, net migration if 600k because there is emigration of 600k.

We're not talking about legal immigration, we're talking about the illegal immigration relative to net migration.

Don't be a fool. You trying to tell me that of all those who get here illegally, half say oh well perhaps we didn't mean it, so we're off? What

*have* you been smoking?

Then that's stupid and comparing completely different quantities. Net migration includes those whose families were in the UK for generations so an utterly pointless number to compare with.

Then don't be a fool and compare illegal immigration with net overall migration. We have control over the 1,200,000 legal migrants, so why whinge about 76,000 that we don't[1]. FFS look at the bigger picture.

[1] In many cases we have been culpable in causing the conditions for many to successfully claim asylum status.

What does that have to do with anything. I'm interested in the amount by which the population goes up year by year.

Your posts indicate that you're only interested in illegal immigration.

If you want to reduce net immigration, which for you seems a secondary consideration, then look at reducing legal immigration as we have control over that. Wasn't that what your Brexit was all about?

Our current rate of house building won't even cope with the current rates of net migration.

Whether it's 76k in 600k (13%) or 76k in 1.2M (6%) doesn't make all that much difference. We need to control the population.

The fact that every single person who crosses the channel from France (a safe country by international law) is illegal is beside the point.
