OT: Credit card contactless purchase worry

I bought some items from a local garage, ~£15, and "paid contactless"except the cashier pressed the chip against his reader when Ipresented it.I'm now worrying as to whether that served any other (nefarious)purpose or whether his reader was clapped out.Can any information other than the normal wireless transaction data bepassed on in this way?

And the machines that have screens where the top 1/4 appears blank (where the amount to pay appears), unless you take pick the machine up and angle it more.
