I was staying with a friend when I accidentally smashed a tumbler by knocking if off a table. It turns out that two others in the set have already been broken. I would like to replace them and thought I should go completely over the top to ensure it does not occur again.
As far as I can see, the main glass types are annealed and tempered with tempered glass 4-5 times stronger. There is also borosilicate glass (PYREX in Europe). I wonder how this compares in strength. What is the material the pubs use for safety glasses (Tritan) and are there any issues with it?
