OT: Amazon Subscribe and Save

Any page on Amazon, top right is 'Hello <your name>, Accounts and Lists'. Hover over it and a dropdown appears. Select 'Your Subscribe & Save'.

A list of your future deliveries appears. Click on the Subscriptions tab, click on each item listed and select 'Cancel subscription'.

If you have no items on your subscription then you won't get any future S&S deliveries.

I've had that experience recently. When I realised I just cancelled the order and reordered without the subscription.

Often (always?) Subscribe and Save is the pre-selected default when you go to an item (where S&S is available obv.).

Avoiding 'Subscribe and Save' is much the same as avoiding "Get Prime" - but you may have to do it more often.

The "Subscribe and Save" savings always strike me as trivial. We have one thing on "Subscribe and Save" and the reason for that is more that it's convenient not having to re-order regularly than any saving we might be making.

Indeed. Because I have a regular S&S I frequently 'subscribe' to items, receive one discounted delivery then cancel. I have cheap filler items to ensure the delivery always has at least five items on it to get the max 15% discount - filler items I would have bought anyway.

Often Amazon are far from being the cheapest.

I've found the option for,say, a repeat monthly supply is on something the average person probably would only use once or perhaps have in the cupboard for an emergency one off use.
